E-Verify is a web-based system that allows enrolled employers to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States. E-Verify employers verify the identity and employment eligibility of newly hired employees by electronically matching information provided by employees on the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, against records available to the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This webinar, provided by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), will demonstrate how E-Verify works and the benefits of the program, before moving onto enrollment, compliance highlights, best practices, and valuable resources. This one hour webinar, useful for prospective and new E-Verify users, is eligible for 1 professional development credit through SHRM and HRCI.

Since 1986, under the Immigration Reform & Control Act (IRCA), the Form I-9 has been a requirement for all employers to complete for each of their new employees. United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) maintains and oversees the Form I-9. This webinar, provided by USCIS, will cover Form I-9 requirements, step-by-step instructions on how to complete each section, acceptable documents, retention, and storage. The one hour webinar, useful for all employers and their HR professionals, is eligible for 1 professional development credit through SHRM and HRCI .
