E-Verify Enhances Account Security with Login.gov

Fecha de Publicación:
News Item Date:

To strengthen account security, E‑Verify is implementing multifactor authentication (MFA) through Login.gov. MFA adds an extra layer of security to the login process by requiring users to provide more than just a password. For example, users may be asked to enter a code sent to their email or mobile device in addition to their password.

To enable MFA, users must link their existing E‑Verify user account(s) to an account in Login.gov. Users can either create a Login.gov account or use an existing Login.gov account. This added security measure will help prevent unauthorized access and better protect your personal and organizational data.

What You Need to Do:

  • Simply click the “Migrate Your Account” button on the pop-up banner the next time you log in and follow the guided steps.

The account migration takes less than 10 minutes. You have 30 days to complete the transition. If you need additional assistance, please watch the E‑Verify Multi-factor Explainer video.

Important: This change does not affect users who access E‑Verify via a web service.

Going forward, access your E‑Verify account(s) by logging in through the “Login with Login.gov” option on the E‑Verify sign-in page.

To learn more about MFA and the Login.gov transition, visit the MFA Login.gov Frequently Asked Questions webpage.
