New Features and Updates for Direct Access Users

Performed start up procedures for E Verify after the government reopened from the partial shutdown.
  • Restarted E-Verify operations.
  • Ensured direct access users have the appropriate amount of time to process cases
  • Ensured that employees with Tentative Nonconfirmation responses have enough time to contact SSA or DHS to begin resolving the mismatch.
Removed the Other option from the Additional Case Details section. Now, users only see Today, 1 Day Ago and 2 Days Ago options when creating an E Verify case.
  • Reduces confusion when users are entering the Employee’s First Day of Employment. Now users can enter the date into the Employee’s First Day of Employment field.

New Features and Updates for Web Service Users

Fixed a bug preventing some WS users from receiving the proper citizenship code and document type.
  • Ensures WS users to receive the appropriate response code.
Fixed an issue where cases that received an FNC due to No Shows were not easily identifiable.
  • Easily identifies FNC cases to WS users, so they can take appropriate action when closing the case.

Deployed Interface Control Agreement (ICA) Version 30 (v30) Alpha Release. This release enables testers to test the partially complete features in the initial phase. Gives the Web Service community a chance to begin integrating with the Application Program Interface (API) as well as the authentication methods used such as:
  • Authentication,
  • CreateCase,
  • SubmitCase, and
  • DuplicateCaseCheck.

Government Shutdown – E-Verify Not in Operation

Due to the lapse in federal funding, the E-Verify system was not in operation from December 22, 2018 to January 26, 2019. E-Verify restarted on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 1:00 PM Eastern.

Department of Homeland Security Network Outage

On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, DHS experienced a network outage that affected operations mid-day. All processing returned to expected levels that same afternoon.
