Later this year, E-Verify browser users will begin using Login.gov to log into E-Verify. This change will require users to enter more information than just a password through a process called multi-factor authentication. For example, along with the password, users may be asked to enter a code sent to their email or phone.
Enhancing the E-Verify login process:
- Helps prevent unauthorized account access if a system password has been compromised; and
- Minimizes risks due to human error, misplaced passwords, and lost devices.
