How can I fix inaccurate information about myself in E-Verify?

E-Verify works by comparing information entered from an employee’s Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, to records available to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Social Security Administration (SSA).  If you receive a Tentative Nonconfirmation (mismatch), it may indicate that you have incorrect information in these records, or that your records have not been updated.  You may correct your information with DHS or SSA. For more information, see the Further Action Notice provided by your employer or visit our How to Process a Tentative Nonconfirmation (Mismatch) page. After the verification process is complete, you still have the opportunity to access and correct your information. See the How to Correct Your Immigration Records after Resolving a Tentative Nonconfirmation (Mismatch) in E-Verify Fact Sheet (PDF) for additional information.
