I entered the incorrect first day of employment into E-Verify. How can I correct this?

You may edit case information before submitting the case. If you create a case and the information entered does not immediately match records available to DHS and/or Social Security Administration (SSA), the Review Case alert screen appears. From this screen, you can correct the employee’s first day of employment and confirm case information.

OR

If you printed the E-Verify Case Details, make a note on the E-Verify Case Details page. If you wrote the E-Verify case number on the employee’s Form I-9, make a note on the Form I-9 explaining that you entered the wrong first day of employment in E-Verify. Initial and date the note. Do not create a new case with a corrected first day of employment.
