What is E-Verify?
E-Verify is an Internet-based system that compares information entered by an employer from an employee’s Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, to records available to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration to confirm employment eligibility.
Why E-Verify?
E-Verify gives you, the employer, peace of mind that your employees are legally authorized to work in the United States.

Enrolling in E-Verify is Easy!
It only takes a few simple steps to enroll in E-Verify and begin confirming the employment eligibility of all of your new hires. However, once you start the Enrollment Process you cannot save your progress if it cannot be completed right away, so make sure you have everything you need before you begin. Use the Quick Reference Guide or follow the links provided above and below to help you prepare for enrollment. Need help? Visit the E-Verify Contact Center webpage.
Federal Contractors
A presidential Executive order and subsequent Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) rule required federal contractors to use E-Verify to electronically verify the employment eligibility of employees working under covered federal contracts. The order and the rule reinforce Federal government policy that the Federal government does business only with organizations that have a legal workforce.
